Title: CODE: Debugging the Gender Gap - Screening & Panel Discussion
The Division of Information Technology at Virginia Tech presents CODE:  
Debugging the Gender Gap Screening and Panel Discussion on Tuesday,  
February 7, 2017 in room 190 in Godwin Hall on the campus of Virginia Tech.

While women and minorities have made undeniably significant contributions  
to the fields of data science and STEM, they remain underrepresented in the  
university setting and the workplace. The documentary "CODE: Debugging the  
Gender Gap" explores the current situation and provides historical  
perspective.

The screening will be followed by a panel discussion moderated by noted  
computer engineer Lauren States, and will include panelists Ashima Athri,  
Racheida Lewis, and Jessica Self, all VT alumna who are building their  
careers in STEM fields. The panel will share their experience, answer  
questions from the audience, and facilitate an open discussion on the ways  
forward.

A reception will follow to allow conversations to continue.

This unique event is aimed primarily at aspiring and current college  
students, and is not limited to VT audiences. Educators, community  
organizations, and interested tech employees are also invited.
