RBTC presents the Regional STEM Educator Panel Discussion Breakfast on  
Thursday, January 19, 2017 at the The Inn at Virginia Tech and Skelton  
Conference Center.

The importance of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)  
Education has been widely recognized in public and private education. It  
has also become a key focus in higher education for technology companies  
who are looking to the STEM 'pipeline' to hire emerging talent. What is the  
state of STEM education in the Roanoke-Blacksburg region and how can we  
continue to grow and deepen the shift towards STEM education as a  
technology community?

Join the RBTC.tech members as we hear from a well-rounded panel of STEM  
experts who will shed light on the role we all can play in reinforcing this  
continued STEM shift.

Panelists will include:

* Mark Levy | Director, Roanoke Valley Governor’s School for Science and  
Technology
* Darrell Little | IT Consultant. Organizer for Roanoke Linux Users Group,  
and Founder of "Learn to Program, Roanoke!"
* Rebecca Phillips, Director, Southwest Virginia Governor’s School (SWVGS)  
for Mathematics, Science, and Technology
* Thomas "Tweeks" Weeks | Longtime Linux Engineer/Architect at Rackspace  
and instructor for "Let's Code Blacksburg!"

* Moderator: Henry Bass, founder and president of Automation Creations
