You have been invited to the following event.

Title: 2018 Hokie BugFest
The Virginia Tech Department of Entomology presents the 8th Annual Hokie
BugFest at both the Squires Student Center and at locations throughout
downtown Blacksburg, VA on Saturday, October 20, 2018.

Jump, crawl, or buzz on out to Virginia Tech’s 8th Annual Hokie BugFest!
This FREE event celebrates the joy and excitement of entomology, with
STEM-inspired (Science Technology Engineering and Math) activities for all
ages!

Features include a NEW Art Contest, Insect Collection Contest, exhibits
from regional museums, and endless arts and crafts. Walk through the NEW
Butterfly House, spooky Spiders' Lair, or check out over 200 arthropods in
Virginia Tech's own Bug Zoo. Play Bug Bingo, Bug Jeopardy, or enter the
NEW Buggin-Out Costume Contest and win a prize! On the main stage, enjoy
Tony Gustin the "Bug Whisperer," or cheer on the adventurous eaters of the
Bug Eating Contest.

Grab a bite to eat from the many food vendors along College Avenue, or
watch BugFest’s NEW “Human’s Dressed as Dung-Beetle Races.” You can even
head to the Lyric Theater for a bug-inspired Children's Story Hour or watch
the move "Microcosmos". No matter what you choose, Hokie BugFest will
leave you bug-crazed and bug-amazed!

Hokie BugFest continues to be a S.A.F.E. (Supporting Autism-Friendly
Environments) event - in cooperation with the Virginia Tech Center for
Autism Research.

This event highlights an ongoing youth education program hosted by the
Virginia Tech Department of Entomology, Virginia Cooperative Extension's
4-H program, and the department's student-run professional organization,
the W. B. Alwood Entomological Society.
