Title: Hidden Figures: Stability Wind Tunnel Tour
Virginia Tech's Department of Information Technology presents Hidden
Figures: Stability Wind Tunnel Tour as part of their celebration of Women's
Month on Monday, March 19, 2018 at Randolph Hall on the campus of Virginia
Tech with tours available at 5:45 pm and 6:45 pm

The Stability Wind Tunnel is operated by the Aerospace and Ocean
Engineering Department. It was originally built at the NACA Langley
Aeronautical Laboratory in 1940 and was the prototype of the tunnel seen in
Hidden Figures!

The wind tunnel was erected in 1959. With a 1.83m-by-1.83m test-section, it
is one of the largest university operated wind tunnels in the United States
with maximum speeds of 80 m/s (178 mph).

Admission is free.

The capacity is limited to 10-12 people per tour (total of 20-24 people)
and registration is required.

showing of the award-winning movie, with a keynote speaker and Q&A session,
followed by a variety of tours of Virginia Tech science and technology
facilities. We will also be sharing information related to college access
