You have been invited to the following event.
Title: Hidden Figures: Virginia Tech Facility Tours - Ware Lab + Hybrid
Electric Vehicle Lab
Virginia Tech's Division of Information Technology presents Hidden Figures:
Ware Lab + Hybrid Electric Vehicle Lab as part of their celebration of
Women's Month on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 which will depart the Haymarket
Theater inside the Squires Students Center on the campus of Virginia Tech
at 7:15 pm.
The Ware Lab houses undergraduate design projects in the College of
Engineering, allowing students to sharpen theoretical and computational
skills learned in the classroom by working on real-world engineering
projects. A “hands-on, minds-on” approach has led to a tradition of success
for Virginia Tech engineering - each year, more than 450 students and
volunteers contribute to Ware Lab projects.
The Ware Lab is also home to the Virginia Tech Hyperloop and Hybrid
Electric Vehicle teams.
Space is limited to 50 people and registration required:
https://virginiatech.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_4YeWKYL0UfMivzv.
The Virginia Tech facilities tours available after the free Hidden Figures
movie screening include:
• Visionarium + Assistive Technologies Lab (Torgersen Hall)
• Goodwin Hall + the Terrestrial Robotics Lab
• Ware Lab + Hybrid Electric Vehicle Lab
All tours will depart Haymarket Theatre at 7:15 pm and required advance
registration due to limited space.
The series of events "Hidden Figures: Into the Future" will include a free
showing of the award-winning movie, with a keynote speaker and Q&A session,
followed by a variety of tours of Virginia Tech science and technology
facilities. We will also be sharing information related to college access
and majors in the STEM and data science fields.
