Competition
FIRST Chesapeake District presents the 2019 Southwest Virginia Robotics  
Competition on Saturday, March 30, 2019 and Sunday, March 31, 2019 at  
Blacksburg High School.

Sunday Schedule:
• 9:00 am - 4:00 pm - Welcome and Information Tables Open
• 9:00-9:30 am - Opening Ceremonies
• 9:30 am - 12:30 pm - Qualification Matches
• 12:30-1:00 pm - Alliance Selections
• 1:00-2:00 pm - Lunch
• 2:00-5:00 pm - Elimination Tournament
• 5:00-6:30 pm - Awards Ceremony
• 7:00 pm - Pits Close

Forty of the best and brightest high school robotics teams from Virginia,  
DC and Maryland will be competing in this two day event that serves as a  
qualifier for the FIRST Chesapeake District Championship. Come out and  
cheer on your favorite team or learn more about bringing FIRST Robotics  
programs to your community.

This year’s game is called "Destination: Deep Space", simulates a
mission to an alien planet where teams work in alliances and pilot their  
remote controlled robots to secure hatches and load cargo on space ships

Admission is free and open to the public.



Teams compete for scores that will earn them a place at the FIRST  
Chesapeake District Championship. Winners from FIRST Chesapeake will  
compete at the FIRST World Championship in Detroit, Michigan.
